Ademola Williams, from Oshogbo is married with four children, one of whom is also a well-known artist and the founder of the Iwalewa Art Gallery, Femi Williams. Ademola Williams born July 25, 1947, began studying painting in 1976, when he received a certificate in fine arts from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Nigeria. He got his B.A in fine arts from Bradford College in the United Kingdom in 1980, and an MFA from the University of Benin in Nigeria fourteen years later. His employment at the prestigious University of Benin marked the start of his professional life during which he earnestly understudied Professor Solomon Wangboje. His time at the institution ranged from 1982 until 2012. He began his career as the faculty coordinator in the department of fine and applied arts. Between 1983 and 1994, he was a member of the exhibition committee, and the faculty representative for the international trade Show of the institution. He has since retired as a senior lecturer at UNIBEN and practices as a full-time studio artist specializing in painting and print making. Ademola Williams has participated in a good number of group & solo art exhibitions locally and internationally.
